When tasked with finding a home that fit our requirements of being historic, in need of major updating, and a usable art studio, our Yak House Project was a dream home except the “studio”. The owner brought keys to let us in during walk-through and we stood quietly in a musty, pitch-black garage with a wooden floor and no windows. “Can this really be your office?” Chris asked. “I will make it work”. Over a year and a half, we fixed the roof leaks, replaced rotten boards, make the floors usable, and stacked salvaged windows against one wall.
